London: 'I'm not ready for commitment' has topped the list of reasons given by women when dumping their partner, while men go for a vague 'it's just not working' excuse, a new study has found.Researchers asked 1,000 of its male and female members why and how they would dump apartner.Going against the stereotype of the commitment-phobe male, the most popular line used by women in ending a relationship is, "I'm not ready for commitment yet".The second most popular reason is, "This is going too fast for me", the 'Daily Mail' reported."You don't earn enough money" is the third most important reason on the women's list, whereas it doesn't feature at all on the men's list.The third most popular reason for men is they are no longer attracted to their partner and the fourth most popular reason is, "We've lost that sexual spark".Both sexes prefer to end a relationship face-to-face but they are also increasingly using email and text to tell a lover they are history, the report said.Just over half of women (52%) would meet a partner to say the relationship is over, while fewer than half of men (43%) would break the news in person.While 'I am not ready for commitment yet' tops the list of 10 reasons women give for ending a relationship, 'This is going too fast for me' is the second most important reason given, the report said.'You don't earn enough money' featured 3rd on the list, followed by 'You are not mature enough' at 4th place, 'I need to concentrate on my career' at 5th position, 'I don't like your friends or family' at 6th place.The list also includes 'It's just not working' at number 7 and 'We are not going to get married, so what's the point?' at number 8.'We have not got enough in common and 'I don't trust you' also made it to the list.The top ten excuses men give for ending the relation: 'It's just not working at number 1, 'I've met someone else' (2), 'I'm not attracted to you any more'(3), 'We've lost that sexual spark number four, 'It's not you, it's me' at number 5 followed by 'I need to concentrate on my career' at 6.We want different things featured at number 7, 'I don't want to see you any more' at 8.'I am not ready for commitment yet' featured at number 9 and 'We have not got enough in common' at number 10.
