London, Jan 13: Prince William and wife Kate have advertised for a servant to be able to perform multiple duties -- valet, personal assistant, cook and even chauffeur -- when the royal couple become parents this year.

The assistant at Kensington Palace must also polish silverware and glassware, remain loyal, and ensure that all areas of the residence are cleaned and maintained to a high standard at all times, the Daily Mail reported.

The ad came even as the royal family stresses that Kate has no plans to employ a dresser or lady-in-waiting and that the couple largely do their own cooking and shopping.

The couple was also planning to not employ a full-time nanny when their baby is born.

The successful candidate for the assistant's post will also undertake the preparation of basic meals, in-house laundry, driving, as well as caring for and exercising dogs.

The man or woman must also have a valid British driving licence.

The position demands an average of 37 hours a week, to worked from 8.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.

At least 15 people have applied for the job so far.

Kate and William are expected to move into their new family home at Kensington Palace later this year.

About one million pounds is being spent in renovating the lavish four-storey, 20-room house, which comes with its own private walled garden.
