San Juan, Oct 2: Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Tommy Torres, winner of Grammys as producer for Ricky Martin and Alejandro Sanz, Monday presented his fourth album, "12 Historias" (12 Stories), with the collaboration of Ricardo Arjona and Nelly Furtado.

Torres told EFE that the 12 subjects of his new production are anecdotes "of love, of friends, of acquaintances, about some very personal things", as well as other stories from his Twitter account about happenings and feelings.

He particularly noted the song "El Abrigo" (The Overcoat), in which he worked with Juanes on guitar.

The song, Torres said, deals with the problems of young college students after they take their degree and try to get a job in the field they studied.

"It's a reality that many are going through right now. Going to college used to guarantee getting a job, now it's about growing and learning," he said.

The first single to be released to promote his new disc, "Querido Tommy" (Dear Tommy), was inspired by a Chilean follower who told him on the social network Twitter that he was madly in love and asked the artist to help him declare his love to the girl of his dreams.

Torres said that while he considers himself a fan of social networks, when he has to compose he disconnects from them entirely. He did say, however, that he uses them to get a little "relief".

He said that what's useful about social networks is that followers can get to know about your everyday life, something he wishes he'd had with his favourite artists at the start of his musical career.
