Apart from a huge bunch of friends, Salman Khan has a family which adores and supports him in all spheres of his life.

Born to a noted screenwriter, Salim Khan and his wife Salma Khan, Salman never used their influence to make his place in tinsel town.

The actor always approached filmmakers on his own for auditions. His full name is Abdul Rashid Salim Salman Khan.

Salman always wears a turquoise stone bracelet. His father Salim Khan also wears a similar bracelet and considers it to be very lucky.

He studied acting at actress Daisy Irani's institute along with his friends Sajid Khan and Chunky Pandey.

Salman loves Chinese food and his favourite restaurant is China Garden in Mumbai.

His last movie 'Kick' did exceptionally well on the box office and now Salman Khan is gearing up with his upcoming releases which include Sooraj Barjatya's 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' and Kabir Khan's 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan'.

Even at the age of 49, the actor gives younger actors a run for money.  The actor is consistent in his social activities like visiting poor kids in hospital and donating blood.
