Mumbai: Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh may replace Ranbir Kapoor in Zoya Akhtar's next film, since the later is overbooked till the year-end.
Ranbir was supposed to be the lead actor with cousin Kareena in the movie, but now Kareena will also stay away from this film.
“Ranveer has already had a few meetings with Excel Entertainment (the company owned by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani). Everything seems to be in place for him to be signed up,” said a source.
The source said, Zoya wanted to start shooting the movie towards the end of the year.
“It's a fantastic storyline about a dysfunctional family. Zoya is kicked about it,” the source said.
Ranveer is currently busy with Ram Leela and Gunday, with another movie Lootera set to release in theatres soon.
“Ranveer only has Shaad Ali's Kill Dil in hand. So he can devote ample time for Zoya's film, in which he has a challenging role,” adds the source.
