When Priyanka Chopra left a Bollywood film after sensing 'disrespect for women' by the maker!

New Delhi: Priyanka Chopra is one powerful woman. Not just her industry stature, but her strength to surpass odds both emotionally and professionally is inspiring.

Former beauty queen and now an internationally renowned celeb, the lady has masqueraded ethereally in various distinct genres.

Her strength seems to have no stopping and Priyanka Chopra is in no fear to disclose about various experiences she has had in her career. As this reigning Bollywood diva geared up for the release of her multi-starrer 'Dil Dhadakne Do,' the actress talked about her filmy choices in terms of women power.

In her latest interview to a leading daily, Priyanka quite comfortably dinged softly in issues like her career choices, women empowerment in industry and relationships with co-stars.

Apart from various pivotal things she mentioned, one that instantly strikes a chord is her stance on 'stereotyping' women in Indian cinema.

When asked about her biggest wins in life, Priyanka elaborated about an incident where she left a film after sensing that the maker had no sense of respect for women. "In one of my first few films, this filmmaker was talking to the fashion designer in front of me in crude Hindi and saying how people come to watch heroines only if they show their legs and bodies. I walked out of that film even though it was very unprofessional and I had already shot for two days," Priyanka revealed.

This 'Bajirao Mastani' star has always been scrutinized for taking up a few out-of-the-league projects. Be it 'Fashion,' or 'Mary Kom,' Priyanka has always been seen crucified with her choices of the film.

However, the lady has firmly mentioned that she feels proud in holding the flag of women appreciation in the industry and she totally supports the equal level playing field for the actresses too.

As she elaborated a bit more on her stance, Priyanka even mentioned that no doubt Indian women are sexy but this should be glorified and not stereotyped. "We come from the land of the Kamasutra and cannot deny that Indian women are sexy and beautiful, but stereotyping a woman and reducing me to just that is not okay with me," said Priyanka.

Doesn't this seem the most logically easy expression of how a woman in film industry should be treated like? Kudos for the actress and for the woman Priyanka is!
