Mumbai: Madhuri Dixit's father, Shankar R. Dixit, died Friday morning. He was 91. Madhuri's friends from the industry could not attend the funeral, as the family released the news of Shanker Dixit's demise after the funeral.Photos by Vinod Singh"We'll miss him but we know he has lived a full life. We thank all those who have offered their condolences and prayers," Madhuri said in a statement.The funeral was at 12.30 p.m at a crematorium in Oshiwada. "The actress' father was staying with her. He had been unwell for a while and passed away at their Juhu residence in Mumbai," Madhuri's manager told IANS.Subsequently a prayer meeting will be organised in a day or two. Her contemporary Sridevi took to Twitter to offer her condolences."Shocked to hear about your father. My condolences to the entire family. RIP Shri Dixit," she posted.With inputs from IANS
