New Delhi: Comedian Kapil Sharma's debut film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon is embroiled in a legal soup. A Chennai-based production house has issued a legal notice to the makers of the comic caper.
As per a report in a leading daily, the comic film is an imitation of a Kannada film Nimbe Huli, whose rights were acquired by a production house in Tamil Nadu for a remake in Hindi.
However, the makers of the original were shocked when they saw the trailer of the film starring Kapil Sharma on the TV as it was based on the same story line of a person having four wives living in different apartments of a same building.
The complaint has been filed by the production house in the High Court last week, where they have sent a legal notice to the film-makers asking for an explanation.
The Abbas-Mastan directorial venture is due for release on 25 September and has Elli Avram, Simran Kaur Mundi, Manjari Phadnis, Arbaaz Khan and Supriya Pathak in the lead roles.
Kapil Sharma has been hosting a comedy show on Colors channel, Comedy Nights With Kapil, for more than two years. With this film, he will get an entry into B-town.
