Pune, Jan 25: The eviction set of reality show Bigg Boss was completely gutted in a massive fire  early Friday morning in Lonavla, due to a suspected short circuit.

By the time, people noticed the blaze and called in the fire tenders, the entire set was reduced to ashes.

Initial reports from fire officials had said that the entire Bigg Boss bungalow in which the contestants used to stay was gutted, but later it was clarified that only the 'eviction set' was completed gutted.

Security guards posted at the eviction set near the Bigg Boss bungalow in Lonavla, said the fire was first noticed at around 2:30 am and by that time the flames had engulfed the entire set.

The reality show's sixth season was over only two weeks ago.

The eviction set is the place where superstar Salman Khan used to interact with the participants of the house and welcome other guests in front of the audience. This set was the one where the episode was shot every Friday.

Lonavla police inspector vishnu Pawar said; "The entire set turned to ashes by 4:45 am even though there were fire tenders from three regions. An industrial shed was used to create the eviction set for Bigg Boss show."

Lonavla Municipal Corporation CEO Ganesh Shete and local corporator Bharat Harpude (BJP) reached the spot early in the morning.
