Mumbai: Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan will begin shooting for the sixth edition of the popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati in the second half of August, and the promos are already on the air.

While the last edition was centred on the common man, this edition will focus on common sense, says a media report.

Bachchan told the newspaper, “The teams that work on these promos deserve applause. They put a lot of blood and sweat into creating each one of them.

"I'm proud that they keep coming up with wonderful ideas every season.

" If the public recalls the show's promos, it's because it's about their lives. I wouldn't like to take the credit for it.”

Last season, the show's promos revolving around the common man made it to the top of the list of most-recalled promos on the tube.

Sony Entertainment has  designed five to six promos around this theme, one of which went on air last week.

The rest will air over the coming 45 days, running up to the upcoming edition of the game show.

They've been shot across 10 cities in India with a host of junior artistes, all carefully cast.

Bachchan, excited with the show's current theme, shot his portions in a single day in late April-early May, while he was still recovering from his illness.

Big B starts shooting for the show towards the end of August.

The set is currently under construction. It's the fifth time that the actor is anchoring the show over six seasons spread across 12 years.

In the last two seasons, his show revolved around the common man and the concept that ‘every question counts'.

In his KBC 6 promos, Bachchan presses on the importance of acquiring knowledge, beyond basic academics, inculcating a sharp understanding of everyday issues and common sense.

He insists that in their absence, you can't make it big even if the greatest opportunity comes your way.
