After Gurmeet Ram Raheem Singh found guilty in rape case, people were once again forced to think about their belief on babas performing miracle. But, Bollywood has many times in the past raised this issue with some spectacular scripts. Be it Raj Kumar Hirani’s PK or Akshay Kumar starrer OMG, the movies beautifully portrayed the obsession of  Indians with ‘dhongi babas’. Superstar Aamir Khan starrer film sparked many controversies due to its sensitive overtone . But eventually, it became one of the highest grossers of the year. Actor Saurabh Shukla was seen playing the role of Tapasvi in the film, who raked money by playing with the religious sentiments of people.


With Akshay Kumar playing the role of modern Krishna and Paresh Rawal challenging some godmen, the movie dealt with the subject in the hilarious way. Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty brilliantly portrayed the role of a godman.


Veteran actor Amrish Puri was seen as baba fooling innocent people in the Amitabh Bachchan starrer film. It also featured Jaya Prada and Aditya Pancholi in pivotal roles.

In the Rohit Shetty’s directorial venture, Amole Gupte played the role of a godman. Actors Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor Khan were  seen playing the leads in the film.
