Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmavat is all set to hit the screens on January 25 and will fight the box office battle with Akshay Kumar starrer Padman. This has become a topic of discussion as two big films are releasing on the same date and it is surely going to affect its business. The topic is so big that even megastar Amitabh Bachchan and filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma couldn’t stop talking about it.

Big B took to micro-blogging site Twitter and tweeted, “T 2526 - 'PADMA' the operative key word for film release on 26th Jan 2018 :PADMAvat & PADMAn .. !!”

RCV’s take on the issue was hilarious. He tweeted, “Padm(a)n(v)at is an inspiring period story about periods.”

Well, seems like along with movie buffs, celebrities are also thinking about the big clash. Talking about Padmavat, there is no official confirmation by the makers about the release date but trade analyst Taran Adarsh in his tweet revealed that the film is going to release on January 25.

Ever since, the shooting of Bhansali’s film started, it has been facing ire of the religious groups. CBFC recently passed the film and suggested to change the title. However, Rajasthan’s chief minister Vasundhara Raje has made it clear that the movie will not be screened in any of the theatres of the state.

Padmavat features Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in pivotal roles.

On a related note, Padman is inspired from the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, the man who invented low cost sanitary napkins. Apart from Akshay, the film also features Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor.
