Kishore Kumar's son Amit Kumar reveals the story behind Roop Tera Mastana

Legendary playback singer Kishore Kumar has sung many songs that are still remembered by the movie lovers. One of the popular tracks of the singer was Roop Tera Mastana from the 1969 film Aradhana. The songs marked the comeback of singer Kishore to the industry. But, do know it was not originally meant to be the same. The revelation was made by none other than Kishore Kumar’s son Amit Kumar during one of his shows.

The singer revealed that the music of the song was different but his father Kishore asked the music director to use the Bengali version of one of his songs. At the end, they got the final product that turned out to be the biggest hit of the year. It was picturised on Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore. The actor sealed his superstar status with the film. One more interesting fact about the song was, it was shot in just one take.

 

Kishore Kumar always experimented with his songs and tried to bring out something new in order to entertain the audiences. Not many people know that his song Paanch Rupaiya Baara Aana from Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi was inspired from his college days when he had to pay Rs 5 to his canteen owner.
