Like every Anurag Kashyap film, just released Manmarziyaan starring Abhishek Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal, has also attracted troubles and controversy. The film has clearly failed to make an impact on the Box Office even when the trailer created a lot of buzz and now, to add on to the sadness, people from the Sikh community are planning to file an FIR over an objectional scene in the film. It is learned that they have asked to file an FIR against the makers and the star cast of Manmarziyaan.

It is learned that the community is highly enraged over a couple of scenes in Manmarziyaan where Taapsee Pannu and Abhishek Bachchan, who play Sikhs, are seen smoking cigarettes and in another scene, Abhishek is seen removing his turban in an objectionable way. Ambala's Sikh Sangat met on Monday at Gurdwara Manji Sahib to take a decision against the screening of the film.

However, before the matter goes out of hand, director Anurag Kashyap has broken his silence over the issue and explained his point of view in a tweet. He said, “This film is not commenting on a community, it talks about individuals and their choices. Manmarziyaan is a story of three individuals and not their religion.”

He further said the , “When we shot the sequence in gurudwara, we were told we can’t shoot them getting married as it can’t be faked so we made the actors do only ‘mattha tekna’. When we were shooting scenes, no member of crew was allowed to smoke inside the houses.”

Known for portraying on-screen life as is, Kashyap further added, “We created what we saw with our own eyes and after discussion. We wanted to show things the way they are. I have always put out things the way they are without an agenda.”

In the end, Kashyap even apologized to everyone whose sentiments are hurt unintentionally and even requested to not make this a political issue because it is not.
