Music composer and singer of Bollywood Anu Malik, who has been accused of sexual misconduct during India's Me Too movement has been reportedly banned from entering Yash Raj Studio. If a report of Deccan Chronicle is to be believed Yash Raj studio have a zero-tolerance policy for those facing charges of sexul harassment. A source from the YRF team told the portal, “Anu Malik is not allowed to enter the Yash Raj studio gates. They have a non-negotiable policy to stand firm against people accused of sexual harassment. Last year, they sacked their senior executive Ashish Patel after he was accused of sexual misconduct.”
For unversed, besides two anonymous women, singers Sona Mohapatra, Shweta Pandit and Alisha Chinai accused the music composer of sexual misconduct. Anu Malik's lawyer Zulfiquar Memon refuted all allegations against the composer and had told IANS in a statement, "The allegations made against my client are emphatically denied as completely false and baseless. My client respects the #MeToo movement but to use this movement to start a character assassination mission is obnoxious."
Meanwhile, Anu Malik is reportedly set to return as a judge of Indian Idol's latest season and this has upset those who have been supporting the movement. For uninitiated, Channel was forced to remove Anu Malik from the reality show last year in October after multiple called out his inappropriate behaviour.
Other prominent names that emerged from Bollywood during the #MeToo movement in India are Alok Nath and Sajid Khan. Even they have been barred from entering the premises of the studio.
