New Delhi: Actor director producer Ajay Devgn’s next after ‘Shivaay’ might be one of the most controversial projects he would have ever taken up. It is being reported that Ajay has been approached for a movie based on the Babri Masjid demolition of 1992.

According to media reports, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and ‘Baahubali’ writer Vijayendra Prasad has asked Ajay if he would be interested in playing the lead role in the movie. The film is being said to be titled ‘Kabir’ and if Ajay gives it a nod, it would turn to be one of the most controversial movies of his career spanning decades.

For those who don’t know, the Babri Masjid Demolition changed Indian politics in a great deal. On December 6, 1992, a large crowd of Hindu volunteers entirely destroyed the 16th-century Babri Masjid mosque in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, India, in an attempt to reclaim the land known as Ram Janmabhoomi (the mythological birthplace of the Hindu god Rama).

“It is not a pro-government film. Kabir takes a look at the turmoil that our country faced after the Babri Masjid was demolished and one man’s heroic attempt to stand up to the violence that followed,”

a source close to the movie said.

The buzz also states that CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani will be producing it and Vijayendra Prasad will be the director.

Currently, Ajay is filming for his home production Shivaay and post this will act in Milan Luthria’s ‘Baadashaho’.
