According to CBSE sources, around 18 lakh students have registered for the Class X exams, while for Class XII the number of registration has crossed 11 lakh for the first time.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is likely to hold Class X ad Clas XII examinations from March 5. The final date sheet will be announced in the first week of January 2018. Students can check their exam dates on the official website, cbse.nic.in

"The exams are going to start after Holi, which is on March 2, 2018. Generally the exams start on March 1 or 2 provided they are not holidays. The 2018 exams are likely to start from March 5, which is a Monday, for both the classes," a senior CBSE official told TOI.

The reporst added that Class X exams are likley to be over in Match, while Class XII exams may continue till April. 

According to CBSE sources, around 18 lakh students have registered for the Class X exams, while for Class XII the number of registration has crossed 11 lakh for the first time. The registration process was completed in the third week of December, this year. 

There will be over 4,200 exam centres for close to 16,500 schools this time.

From this year all the Class X students will be appearing for the board exam. Till March 2017, Class X students used to sit for either the board exam or school-based exam under the continuous and comprehensive evaluation (CCE) scheme.

Take a printout for future use

Every year, the board conducts the exam in the month of March and April. The results for the same are expected to be declared in May and June.
