Born on April 30th, the 27 year-old dashing dude of Indian cricket team, Rohit Sharma is a man with all qualities of a true sportsman.

This right-handed batsman at present is showing his charismatic style in the ongoing IPL as captain of Mumbai Indians.

Despite all the ups and downs in his career, Rohit is sailing on his path to success with all his hardwork and dignity which has earned him the nomination for the prestigious Arjuna Award this year.

Rohit Sharma is one of the successful IPL players and has a unique record of finishing the match by smashing a Six on the very last ball.

He has one IPL century and a hatrick to his credit and Rohit began his IPL journey with Deccan Chargers franchise who signed him for a whooping sum of US$ 750,000 a year.

He was one of the leading run scorers in the 2008 IPL season with 404 runs at an average of 36.72. He also held the coveted Orange Cap for a brief period.

In the 2009 IPL season, he was appointed the vice-captain of the Deccan Chargers. In a match against Kolkata Knight Riders where 21 runs was required off the last over, Sharma scored 26 off the over of the medium pacer, Mashrafe Mortaza to seal a convincing victory.  

He was named the best under-23 player of the tournament, 2009. In the 2011 IPL auction, he was sold for US$ 2million to the Mumbai Indians and now he is leads the team.  

On November 13th, 2014, Rohit Sharma became the highest individual ODI scorer with 264 runs against Sri Lanka at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. He also became the only player to hit two double hundreds in ODI cricket match.

With his memorable 186 runs innings, Rohit broke Shane Watson's of most runs scored with Fours and Sixes.

This promising face of Team India has hit 33 Fours and 16 Sixes in separate ODI innings to hold the record of hitting most number of Fours and Sixes in a single ODI innings.

Rohit Sharma happens to be the second leading run scorer in all IPL series till date.
