Fascinating the onlookers at the recent Auto Expo 2016, the much awaited Vitara Brezza compact SUV is soon to be released in the Indian market. Adopting the global product development process and Suzuki's core technology, Vitara Brezza has been designed in India.

A report by ET Auto states that the vehicle might launch on March 21, whereas bookings for the same is already open at the dealerships for a token money of INR 21,000.

The car is built upon the development cost of Rs. 860 crores and bears 98% of localisation. The project was led by the Chief Engineer Mr. C.V. Raman, Executive Director, R&D, MSIL. Key elements of the car include its styling, technology, organised interiors, theme layouts and safety guards.

Maruti Vitara Brezza finds a middle way for becoming sporty and SUVish. Two-tone floating roof makes the car feel sporty and 198mm of ground
clearance & the flat front make it look like a strong SUV.

Other than this, Projector headlamps along with 'Bull Horn' LED DRLs are also featured in the car.

Moreover, the car becomes the first vehicle to be offered in three themes, the Glamour, Urban and Sporty.

They separately collect bits of body graphics, body cladding, alloy wheels and highlighted front grille. Vitara Brezza measures 3995mm in length, 1790 in width and 1640mm in height. The car gets a wheelbase of 2500mm.

Inside, the most attractive element of the car is the segment's first Smartplay infotainment system and the instrument cluster with mood lights.

Automatic climate control and Apple CarPlay adds to the working of the infotainment. On the design part, body colored outlines can be spotted on the door panels and inside the cabin.

The steering wheel receives different controls mounted over it for managing many tasks effortlessly. The luggage compartment of the vehicle is about 328-liters.

Vitara Brezza will only get the diesel engine option. A Fiat sourced powerplant will be incorporated in the Brezza which is the tried and trusted 1.3-litre DDiS200 engine.

The same has also been integrated with the S-Cross, Ertiga and Ciaz earlier. In terms of mileage, it is expected that the vehicle will deliver a fuel efficiency of 23kmpl, similar to that of the S-Cross.

Moreover, Brezza would produce 88bhp of power and 200Nm of torque with the configuration of a 5-speed manual gearbox.

On the safety front, Brezza stands quite strong. Driver airbags are standard and they are optional for the passengers. On the other hand, ABS with EBD are available from the base trim.

Not only this, the Suzuki TECT body structure is also associated with the hi-tensile steel body.

Price for the Brezza is yet to be released, but we can predict the price to start around Rs. 6.5 lacs.

Once launched, the car is expected to conquer the sub-compact SUV segment where EcoSport and TUV300 are already enjoying their space.

Also, it is presumed that the sales figures of compact SUVs and C-segment sedan will also be grabbed by Brezza.
