Apple's digital voice assistant has received a huge and colorful update.It features new interface which displays content in a better way and the digital voice assistant can now understand different range of requests. Some examples shown at WWDC were “show me my photos from Utah last August”, "remind me to grab my coffee off the roof when I get in my car" and "play the top songs from 1982" via Apple Music.Siri's update clearly is the answer to Google now, with context sensitive information based on time, date and location. The error rate of Siri has been reduced to 5% and is now better than the Google now which has 8% of error rate2) Better Battery PerformanceThere was no clear battery saving mode in Apple's iOS 8 to save battery and user were left with the options of switching Off their Data ,Wifi or reduce brightness etc for conserving the power.But with iOS 9 introduction of “Low power mode” user can save phone's power for at least three more hours of typical usage claims Apple.Apple also claims that the iOS 9 will provide user with additional one hour of general usage then its predecessor iOS 8.This Improvements in battery departments will be loved by the Iphone user as now their phone's battery charge will last longer.3) Split Screen multitasking in iPadsIn iOS 9 there are only few iPad only features and the first one is QuickType Keyboard, which adds handy copy, cut, paste tools to the suggestion bar, along with access to the camera, attachments and formatting. Touching the keyboard with two fingers at a time transforms it into a giant trackpad so users can move the cursor without leaving the typing position.There's a great new app switcher interface, and then the “slide over” feature allows users to slide new apps onto the screen, and “split view” allows users to display multiple apps on the screen and the same time and work in both.There's also a fantastic picture-in-picture feature that lets you display a thumbnail of a video on top of whatever app you're in which you will find high end Samsung phones.4) Big updates on built in appsNews app has been updated in the new iOS 9.The news app lets the user decide what type of stories they want to read and suggests content with the data collected. It is optimized for both iPhone and iPad devices so that users get amazing reading experience. News app also makes the user's reading experience more interactive with photos and videos.Note app has also been improved a lot over the predecessor as now user can do a lot more .Users can now draw anything on note with their fingers. User can add anything from links, maps and photos much more.Carplay has also been improved over past generation now; Carplay supports some car manufacture apps and can be used to control much more things in the car.5) Apple Maps ImprovedApple maps was not improved that much when iOS 8 was rolled out but Apple this time around decided to improve Maps. Now Maps has transit technology in the app. Transit view brings the user all the public transport information with routes and direction. Trainsit view is available in some cities and it is customized for each city so that the user can recognize sign and be able pinpoint the nearest railway station or bus stand etc.Maps now provide suggestions, when users search for an address they will be able see nearest Food, shopping, fun, drinks and other places near that area. This feature lets user explore places within each category to see what's near them.6) Apple payApple has decided to improve the apple pay with iOS 9. But the App is still runs only on iPhone 6 and 6 plus which is surprising. Apple now supports the Discover card which means 50 million Discover card users can finally join Apple pay. Big brands like Trader Joe's and Baskin Robbins will begin accepting Apple Pay this year as well. More importantly Apple is working with Square to produce a new Apple Pay-compatible card reader which will make a cameo in Apple Stores. The Passbook app is getting renamed as wallet in iOS 9. In Wallet users can now add store credit and debit cards, loyalty and reward card (Dunkin Donuts' DDPerks) as well.7) Spotlight SearchThe Spotlight search has been improved with help of new Siri. The spot light search now populated with contacts, apps, places nearby, and more as per the data collected by the phone .The data collected is dependent on how the phone being used like which people the user often talk with, who user last talked to , which places user often search about, places nearby etc.Suggested apps are triggered by user's routines and what user's most likely to use the device. For example, if user always read the news in the morning, the News app shows up in the Search screen in the morning. The user will also find suggested videos in the search which was not there in iOS 8. Spotlight search can be accessed by swiping right.8) Updates for everyone (smaller sizes)When apple releases a new OS they usually does not provide the update for the predecessor and stop the support for the old generation devices . So implying that this year's release would stop the OS update for iphone 4s, ipad mini 2, ipad 2 and ipod 5 and it would be the end of the road for all these devices. But this year they decided to provide updates for the older models with IOS 9 which means iphone 4s, ipad mini 2, ipad 2 and ipod 5 will get the update.9) More free SpaceThe good news for iPhone user has not finished yet and there is plenty more to come as Apple with iOS 9 ,has reduced the size of the update.When iOS 8 over the air update was rolled out it was around the size 4.4 GB which took lot memory space from the user for the install files. It caused Apple to receive lot of criticism from their users as they were not happy with the update being so large. Hence Apple has listened to their users needs and has produced iOS at smaller size.The iOS 9 download is just 1.3GB in size, which should be much more manageable for all the users.10) Early Access When iOS 8 was released it came in a bulk and had lot of bugs. So company released lot of fixes which sometimes did more bad then good.Hence this year with iOS 9 they have decided to release beta version of iOS 9 which is accessible by everyone including consumers and developers. As many might think that beta already has many bugs and will require crazy fixes but in fact, Apple has done it for the purpose.Apple from its experience with iOS 8 decided that they'll first test iOS 9 with beta release and collect data from the user ( 1 million approx beta users) and fix all the bugs before the Full version release of iOS 9.
