New Delhi, Aug 19: Micromax will shortly launch its largest Android smartphone. Named as Micromax A100, the new smartphone will feature a 5 inch screen with 480x854 resolution. The dual SIM Android 4.0 ICS based phone will also have a 5 megapixel camera.

While its processor's speed and RAM is not known till now, the phone will have 4 GB internal memory and 32 GB expandable. It will also have a fairly large 2000 mAH battery. The phone is currently listed on Homeshop18 but is not yet available for purchase.

Another feature that has not been available in any other Android phone till now is the wireless FM which will play radio without the need of an earphone. This also suggests that the phone will come with a larger speaker.

The phone measures at 142.2 x 72.6 x 11.9 mm and weighs 168 grams which is considerably smaller and lighter but thicker than Samsung Galaxy Note which has 146.9 x 83 x 9.7 mm dimension and 178 grams of weight.

The Micromax A100 comes with usual features of Android like the 3G, Bluetooth, WiFi, proximity sensor, gravity sensor, etc.

Given the price and the features, the phone is a very attractive piece of hardware. However, since we don't know the processor speed, it will be hard to say whether you should wait for this phone or not.

The phone will give competition to already announced Spice Mi500, which has similar specification and 1 Ghz dual core processor in a similar price range.

However, the phone is not yet available and is expected to hit the market only by end of the month. This phone being there also means that Micromax will at least provide a similar processor if not bigger.
