New Delhi: The latest figures by Kantar suggest that Japan never hated the iPhoens. Instead there is strong demand for Apple' latest iPhones.

Apple's new iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c are selling very well in Japan, Kantar revealed on Twitter.

Both the newly launched smartphones by Apple have accounted for 76 per cent of new smartphone sales this October.

Surprisingly, a whooping 61 per cent of NTT DoCoMo smartphone sales for the period were iPhones.

The iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c started selling in the region on September 25, with three local carriers stocking the new iOS handsets, including NTT DoCoMo, KDDI and Softbank.

Experts say the intense competition between the three major carriers at the launch of the new iPhone 5s and 5c resulted in blockbuster sales, despite efforts by Samsung to market its phones as serviceable alternatives this summer.
