New Delhi: In an apparent teardown of the newly announced iPhone 6 Plus, folks at iFixit have found that the device comes with a rocking 2915mAh battery, which is nearly double the 1560mAh cell in the iPhone 5S. Considering that it runs iOS 8, the battery will surely last more than a day on heavy use.

In contrast, the OnePlus One comes with a 3100mAh cell, and the Galaxy Note 3 has 3200mAh up its sleeve.

iFixit has given more points to iPhone 6 Plus in terms of repairability as compared to the iPhone 5s which happened to have the highest repairability score on the website to date. The website also praised the design of the new iPhone.

The teardown also confirms that 1GB of RAM is powering the 6 Plus. In contrast, a lot of high-end Android phones come with 2-3GB RAM these days.

iFixit says Apple has neatly reworked the new phone's internal components so as to fit it well inside the chasis.

Dissembling the device in a Mac repair shop, iFixit technicians also discovered a Broadcom touchscreen controller, chips from Skyworks, Avago and TriQuint, and Murata wifi module.

“The device is powered by an Apple A8 APL1011 system-on-a-chip processor and the LTE modem is a Qualcomm MDM9625M,” the website says.

The iPhone 6 Plus comes with a NFC radio chips used for the new Apple Pay mobile payment platform. The NFC chip in the iPhone 6 Plus comes from NXP Semiconductors, according to iFixit, in line with most investors' expectations. NXP also supplies a motion co-processor, key to making the iPhone's sensors work without draining its battery, iFixit said.
