Top 10 motorcycles and scooters to be unveiled at Delhi Auto Expo 2014

New Delhi: The upcoming Auto Expo 2014, to be held in Greater Noida, will see a host of domestic and international motorcycle manufacturers displaying their latest offerings. Here is a list bikes that you can look forward to at the upcoming Delhi Auto Expo.Moto Morini Granpasso 1200Moto Morini has entered into an alliance with Mumbai based custom bike makers Vardenchi Motorcycles for the launch of the Italian brand in India. Morini will be launching its powerful 1200 Granpasso at the upcoming 2014 Delhi Auto expo. The model boasts of an 1187cc bike with a V-Twin oversquare engine and is being projected as an adventure bike in India. It delivers 120 PS power and 103 Nm torque and comes in with multi disc clutch and dual Brembos brakes. It also possesses a massive windshield and comfortable seating.Moto Morini Scrambler 1200The Scrambler 1200 is powered by the Bialbero CorsaCorta 1187cc twin-cylinder engine, which pumps a power of 120PS and a torque of 102Nm. It is an all-terrain bike that wears sporty looks, possesses a 21 liter fuel tank and 19inch front wheel. It is expected that the company will officially reveal the prices of both the models during the expo. On their official website, Moto Morini 1200 Granpasso is priced at 16500€ (approx Rs 13.90 lakh), and the Moto Morini 1200 Scrambler is priced at 12900€ (Rs 10.87 lakh). But given the high import duty, the prices could go well above the Rs 25 lakh mark.Harley-Davidson Street 750Harley-Davidson will launch the Street 750, its first India-made bike, at the 2014 Auto Expo. The bike was recently unveiled here at the India Bike Week 2014. The Street 750 is powered by a V-Twin 749cc liquid cooled engine which comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. This belt driven motorcycle boasts a single-calliper disc at the front and rear, a 2 into 1 tailpipe and 17 and 15 inch wheels at the front and rear respectively. Harley had confirmed at the EICMA motor show last year that the Street 750 will be priced at Rs 5 lakh on-road in India.Honda Activa 125Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) is set to launch the Honda Activa 125cc variant in India at Delhi Auto Expo. The Honda Activa 125cc variant will compete against the likes of the Piaggio Vespa, the Mahindra Duro and Rodeo and the Suzuki Access and Swish. Honda Activa scooters have been a big hit with customers especially in stop and go traffic in metropolitan cities. Since the current lot of automatic scooters made by Honda have a maximum engine capacity of 110 cc, the new Activa will be first from the Honda line to be powered by a 125 cc engine under the Activa range. Reports suggest the new 125 cc Activa may feature force air-cooled and single-pot engine, complimented with variator-controlled automatic transmission technology. “If launched, Honda Activa 125 will be its biggest automatic scooter yet,” the company website claimed. Honda CBR500RHonda will unveil CBR500R, the mid-sized premium sportsbike, at the auto expo. The Honda CBR500R is well known for its affordability and adventure and is currently produced from the company plant in Thailand. The bike will come in with a 470cc 8 valve, liquid cooled, parallel twin engine mated to a 6 speed manual and offering 46.9bhp power and 30 lb/ft torque. The bike weighs 193 kgs as it sits on a wheelbase measuring 1410mm. The motorcycle can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 180 kmph. It will be available in Black, Pearl White/Blue/Red and Red.Honda CBR650FHonda CBR650F fully faired bike that features an all-new 649cc inline-four engine, that Honda says has been engineered to deliver high torque in the low-to-mid rpm range, especially below 4,000 rpm. Honda CBR650F's four cylinder engine develops 87 BHP of max power at 11,000 RPM and 63 Nm of max torque at 8000 RPM. Honda says that steel twin-spar frame for the CBR650F has a tuned rigidity balance along with cast pivot plates and aluminum swingarm.Honda PCX 125With the arrival of their budget priced PCX 125 scooter, Honda hopes to keep the sales momentum going for the current calendar year. The two-wheeler has been designed to make it feel more spacious without actually increasing its physical size. The model promises fit and finish of the lustrously painted panels. The company has tweaked the engine management system of PCX 125 to make it more fuel economical. A new idle stop system automatically cuts the engine after three seconds idling and the engine is automatically restarted on positive throttle application. The PCX 125 can easily accelerate to 60km/h. The idle stop system and smart fuel injection system help the PCX 125 to a claimed 46 kilometres per litre. It comes with hazard warning lights along with a new switch to access them. The dashboard also has a new clock, and an integral 12-volt adapter that can be used to charge some types of electronic device. The PCX 125 chassis is far ahead of most entry level scooters. It offer a huge 180kg carrying capacity that can put some full size touring motorcycles to shame.Bajaj faired-in Pulsar 200Bajaj's upcoming new faired-in Pulsar 200 will be showcased at the Auto Expo 2014. The Pulsar, in its latest faired-in avatar, is being offered as a feature-rich sportsbike.Hyosung GD250NHyosung GD250N is the competitor of KTM's Duke. The bike comes with a street naked design, accentuating the engine, rear suspension and chassis. The GD250N is powered by a four-stroke, liquid-cooled, 249cc single-cylinder engine with fuel injection, delivering 28bhp of power.Hero MotorCorp RNT conceptHero MotorCorp's RNT bike comes with a technology that is so far unheard of in the two-wheeler market. The RNT is powered by a four-stroke, 150cc, liquid-cooled, diesel engine, which will be offered with a turbocharger as well. Peak power of 13.5bhp at 4000rpm with 3.56kgm of torque at 1600rpm, is transferred to the rear wheel through a six-speed gearbox. The Hero RNT is a diesel motorcycle concept designed for use in rural areas and farms. The RNT looks unconventional, but packs in loads of innovative features. Adding the hybrid tag to this scooter is a 1KW motor mounted to the front wheel giving it two wheel drive. This motor can be controlled either independently via a secondary throttle, or in conjunction with the standard chain drive. Other features of RNT include the wide, flat loading surfaces with strap bars, multi utility folding front, rear and side racks, removable secondary LED headlight with internal Li-ion battery, and an LED headlight.
