Taiwan-based smartphone maker HTC is said to be working on a new mid-range smartphone which could be launched in January next year and could replace the HTC One X9. The new device, bearing the name HTC X10, will ape a lot of specifications from its predecessor One X9.

Estimates peg the cost of the HTC X10 at around $288 (approx Rs 19,500) and will initially be launched in China. Apart from that, the company is also expected to launch a new flagship replacing the HTC 10, which would be called HTC 11.

According to a report by MyDrivers, the HTC X10 will bear specifications very similar to a mid-range smartphone. The handset is said to sport a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080X1920) display, a 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor (Cortex-A53 cores), and 3GB of RAM.

It will also feature a 13MP rear camera with OIS. There is also a possibility that HTC could launch it around New Year’s Day similar to the One X9.

On the other hand, the rumoured upcoming flagship smartphone HTC 11 is said to feature a 5.5-inch QHD (1440x2560) display and run on Android 7.0 Nougat customised with HTC's Sense 8 UI. The device is also said to have a dual-camera setup of 12-megapixel each on the rear side, whereas the front-facing camera is expected to be an 8-megapixel shooter.

The HTC 11 is expected to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 CPU, along with Adreno 540 GPU for graphic performance.

Other features are slated to include 8GB RAM, 256GB inbuilt storage and a 3700mAh battery.

The flagship smartphone is expected to launch sometime in early 2017, priced in the UK at the equivalent of $691 (approx Rs 47,000).
