New Delhi: Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC launched its flagship smartphone HTC 10, which is priced at Rs 52,990. The Android Marshmallow-based smartphone comes with fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C and more. The new smartphone can be compared to Samsung Galaxy S7, Xiaomi Mi 5 and Apple iPhone 6s.

Price and availability 

The HTC 10 is priced at Rs 52,990 and will be available from June 5. On the other hand Samsung Galaxy S7 is priced at Rs 48,900 and is available across online and offline retailers.

Display and processor

The HTC 10 smartphone features a 5.2-inch QHD Super LCD 5 display, and the Galaxy S7 comes with a 5.1-inch QHD display. As you can see, both displays are pretty similar in size and overall resolution. However, there is a lot of difference between the Samsung’s AMOLED display which is way brighter that HTC’s LCD panels. 

HTC 10 packs the latest Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor coupled with 4GB of RAM for much better performance that the Galaxy S7, which is powered by the older Exynos 8890 64-bit octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM.

Features

Samsung Galaxy S7 runs on Android Marshmallow under TouchWiz UI, which is the company’s own UI, whereas the HTC 10 also runs on Android Marshmallow under HTC Sense UI 8. Both the HTC 10 and Samsung Galaxy S7 come with 32GB storage and a microSD card slot for further expansion. HTC 10 smartphone features a metal unibody design, which looks good and is also tough. Also with the Dolby Audio support music can be listed with great quality. Samsung’s Galaxy S7 on the other hand comes with a metal frame and includes a fingerprint scanner embedded within the home button and a heart rate sensor at the back.

Camera

The HTC 10 has returned with its UltraPixel technology, which the company first debuted aboard the HTC One. The HTC 10 is equipped with a 12-UltraPixel camera of aperture f/1.8 with optical image stabilization (OIS), auto-focus, and 4K video recording. It also has a 5-megapixel auto-focus selfie camera. If we compare both the cameras, the Galaxy S7 does have a slightly wider aperture and larger pixel size though with a better and quick autofocus of its own. Samsung Galaxy S7 has a 12-megapixel rear camera of aperture f/1.7 with phase detection auto-focus and optical image stabilization. For selfie lovers, there is a 5-megapixel front-camera of aperture f/1.7.

Battery and connectivity

The HTC 10 and Samsung Galaxy S7 are both equipped with 3,000mAh non-removable batteries. While the HTC 10 support Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 that can charge the battery in just 30 minutes, the Galaxy S7 also supports fast charging. Although the galaxy smartphone has wireless charging. HTC 10 come with USB Type-C port along with 4G LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and GPS connectivity options. Samsung Galaxy S7 features a micro-USB connectivity port, dual SIM card support, 4G LTE, Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi 802.11ac.
