London, July 14: Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson Thursday rejected reports that Dutch star Wesley Sneijder was moving to Old Trafford from Italian club Inter Milan.

The Italian media was abuzz that a deal will be sealed once the wage terms were agreed upon.

Ferguson, however, rejected the reports saying Inter are not interested in selling Sneijder.

"I keep reading about this, there's absolutely nothing at all to that (reports of United's interest in the player). First of all I don't think Inter are prepared to sell him anyway," Ferguson was quoted as saying by ESPN Soccernet Press Pass.

The Guardian reported that despite Ferguson's denial, United chief executive David Gill is reported to have been in contact with parties close to Sneijder, and to have received assurances that the player would be open to a move.

Inter director Marco Branca insisted that the Holland international is "not for sale", the Italians feel that the club might be tempted to cash in on a player who does not fit into new manager Gian Piero Gasperini's strategy.

The 27-year-old Sneijder has a contract that runs till 2015 and if Inter were to sell they would like a fee twice more than the 16 million euros, which they paid when they signed him from Real Madrid in 2009. The player also expects a salary of roughly 190,000 pounds per week.

Daily Mail reported that Milan midfielder will be paid 35 million pounds sterling in transfer fee after agreeing to wage terms of about 190,000 pounds a week. IANS
