F.A cup winner Arsenal defeated English Premier League winner's Chelsea at Wembley Stadium to lift the Community Sheild before the season starts next week. A traditional tourney that is played between the League winners and the F.A cup winners where it is has been the second time that Arsenal has defeated Chelsea for the Community Sheild. It was a classic London derby where rivals faced each other after a pre season tour. Chelsea opened the scoring with Victor Moses scoring in a cross from Willian's corner in the second half. The Gunner's new signing Saed Kolasinac equalised the score with a header to save the day for Arsenal.

With the scores equal till injury time, it was a penalty shootout that would decide the fate of the two London teams. Arsenal led the penalty shootout 5-2 to win the match and the cup. Chelsea new signing Alvora Morata missed the penalty kick to give the Gunners the edge. Surprisingly goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois stepped up to take the penalty kick and rocketed the ball right into the crowd. On that note, it was Arsenal that was declared winners of the match as they start the season with a silverware in their pocket.

Per Mertesacker was knocked out in the first half as he collided with Fabregas to win a ball but Chelsea's midfielder headed Mertesacker's head instead of the ball. The German defender left the pitch with a bloodied nose and a bruise on his forehead to be replaced by the goal scorer Kolasinac.

In the Arsenal line up, there was no Laurent Koscielny, no Mesut Ozil and no Alexis Sanchez. The Frenchmen and the Chilean were present in the stands and it was a great delight that the Gunners managed to lift the cup without their main key players available.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger starts the season on a bright note with a cup in their tally as their main aim is to win the Premier League this year. With no Champions League, the Gunners can concentrate on the BPL fixtures and the Europa League as well.

Chelsea substituted Mitchy Batshuayi for their new signing Avora Morata to come on and have a go at the English league side. Bakayoko was not in the squad list of Conte as he preferred former Arsenal player Cesc Fabregas to play midfield.

Last season was brutally tough on Arsenal as they couldn't qualify for the Champions League and ended fifth on the table. Winning the F.A Cup was the only reason that Arsenal celebrated because if not, Wenger would have been booted out.

Arsenal still have players that need new contracts including Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mesut Ozil and the rebellious Alexis Sanchez. With the new season commencing from next week, the Premier League is back in action and the transfer window coming to an end this month.

Arsenal will face former League winner Leicester City whereas Chelsea will take on Burnley on August 12 simultaneously.
