St. George's, Grenada: England bowlers James Anderson and Chris Jordan both struck early to leave the West Indies on 36 for two at lunch in a rain-hit start to the second test on Tuesday.
After England won the toss, Anderson found a way through with the first ball of his second over, bowling Kraigg Brathwaite off his pad with a sharp inswinger for one.
In the penultimate over before lunch, left-hander Devon Smith, the first Grenadian to play in a test in Grenada, was ruled caught by wicketkeeper Jos Buttler off Jordan for 15. Television replays indicated Smith hit the ground with his bat, rather than the ball.
At lunch, after an hour's play and 15 overs bowled, Darren Bravo was unbeaten on 19 with Marlon Samuels yet to face a ball.
Both teams made changes after the drawn first test.
England omitted off-spinner James Tredwell in favor of allrounder Moeen Ali, who joined their squad from England on Saturday after missing the first Test with a shoulder strain sustained in the recent World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
The West Indies brought in leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo for his first test since 2009 for left-arm spinner Sulieman Benn. Their other change was forced by a shoulder strain to pacer Jerome Taylor, the most threatening bowler in the first test with figures of three for 90 and two for 42. Fast bowler Shannon Gabriel took his place.
