Mumbai: Bollywood stars Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif, alongwith rapper Pitbull are going to rock the opening ceremony of  Pepsi IPL 2013  to  be held at Kolkata's Salt Lake Stadium on April 2.




IPL6 tournament will be held across India from April 3 to May 26.

The opening match will be played on April 3 at Eden Gardens between Kolkata Knight Riders, the defending champions, and Delhi Daredevils.

This will be preceded by  a grand celebration, which will feature  to be held at 7:30 pm  on April 2 at Salt Lake Stadium which will feature flying drummers, Chinese percussionists, awesome fireworks, and some of the biggest film-stars in the country, including Shah Rukh Khan.

Shahrukh Khan, who is the co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders will be performing at the opening ceremony, alongside his Jab Tak Hai Jaan co-star Katrina Kaif.

The organizers, Red Chillies Entertainments have roped in Pitbull, the International rapper.

The first edition of IPL was won by Rajasthan Royals in 2008. Deccan Chargers won the next edition, followed by Chennai Super Kings in 2010 and 2011. Kolkata Knight Riders won the title last year.

This year, nine teams will battle it out in a total of 76 matches, over a period of seven weeks.

The final will be held on May 26, Sunday at Eden Gardens.
