New Delhi: Final hearing on corruption in Indian Premier League (IPL) will resume today. Former Chief Justice Mukul Mudgal's probe panel had filed final report in a sealed envelope on November 3, against N Srinivasan, Gurunath Meiyappan and others in 2013 IPL in betting and spot-fixing scandal.

The apex court bench headed by Justice T.S. Thakur, before which senior counsel Raju Ramachandran submitted the report earlier had said it will be taken up for final haring today.

Meiyappan's actions have caught the police's attention too in the investigation. His voice samples have matched with taped conversations with bookies. But how much the police will finally reveal publicly remains to be seen.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni's role has also been put under the scanner as being the Captain of the Chennai Super Kings in the reports submitted by the probe panel.

The BCCI and ICC have their Anti-Corruption Units and strict procedures, Supeme Court's verdict on Sinivasan, Meiyappan and others is expected to mark a strong step towards the spot-fixing in Gentleman's game.

Role of Srinivasan, Gurunath Meiyappan was put under scrutiny a year ago.

Earlier, in the interim report, submitted to the court in August this year, the panel talked about the role of 13 individuals and the alleged involvement of Meiyappan, an official of CSK, in betting and leaking confidential match related information during the 2013 IPL matches.

Acting on the report, the apex court in May had asked Srinivasan to step down from the post of president of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The committee which  had submitted its preliminary report in February, had mentioned about role of Srinivasan and Meiyappan in the scandal.

S.Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan are three prominent IPL cricketers arrested on allegations of spot-fixing.

Bollywood actor Vindoo Dara Singh was also arrested for allegedly acting as a middleman between Meiyappan and bookies.
