Dubai: Pakistan won the toss and decided to field first in the opening One Day International (ODI) against New Zealand in here Monday.

Skipper Misbah-Ul-Haq said that there was a possibility of dew later in the second innings and Pakistan did not want to take a chance bowling second.

Pakistan's bowling attack would be missing the services of Mohammad Hafeez after he was suspended from bowling by the International Cricket Council (ICC) over suspect action on Sunday.

Legendary batsman Younis Khan has made a comeback to the limited overs team after being dropped for the Australia one-dayers in October.

New Zealand's opener Martin Guptill and all-rounder Corey Anderson are out due to fitness problems.

Teams

Pakistan: Mohammad Hafeez, Ahmed Shehzad, Asad Shafiq, Younis Khan, Haris Sohail, Misbah-ul-Haq (capt), Sarfraz Ahmed (wk), Shahid Afridi, Wahab Riaz, Umar Gul and Mohammad Irfan.

New Zealand: DG Brownlie, AP Devcich, KS Williamson (capt), LRPL Taylor, TWM Latham, JDS Neesham, L Ronchi (wk), DL Vettori, NL McCullum, KD Mills and AF Milne.
