Kolkata: The entire Eden Gardens today erupted in joy as Team India effectively demolished the West Indies handing out an innings and 51 runs victory over the visitors.
West Indies were bowled out for 234, with Shami Ahmed taking five wickets for 47 in 13.1 overs in the visitors' second innings.
Ravichandra Ashwin shone with both the bat and ball. Ashwin took three for 46 in 19 overs. In the morning, he had scored his second Test ton.
Ashwin made 124 runs before he was clean bowled by Shillingford.
This was Sachin Tendulkar's 199th Test, his penultimate one before he plays in his 200th a last Test in Mumbai from November 14.
