New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) may ask Ravi Shastri, who served as Team Director during the recently concluded series against England, to continue his good role till the ICC World Cup 2015.

According to a report in Times of India, the BCCI believes that Shastri made a difference to the team and if he stays, it will be a big boost for Team India.

BCCI officials regard Shastri as a crucial reason for India's turnaround in England.

India lost the Test series by 3-1 but clinched the five-match ODI series 3-1 in England.

“He took charge at a very short notice and made a huge difference. We will sit with him and discuss how to take it forward,” a BCCI official was quoted as saying in the report.

Meanwhile, there are also reports that coach Duncan Fletcher may also continue with his task.

Shastri had in past supported Fletcher by putting his weight behind the under-fire Zimbabwean by calling him a ‘solid character'.

Speaking to ‘ESPNCricinfo', Shastri lavished praise on Fletcher and said, “He is tremendous. He would have done over a 100 Tests as coach, which is massive. He is technically very sound. He is a solid character. He is respected. He is a fatherly figure.”
