The ongoing Twitter battle between former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag and British journalist Piers Morgan intensified on Wednesday.

Hours after England smashed a record 444 runs against Pakistan in the third ODI match, the CNN presenter posed a challenge to the Indian cricketer that England would win an ODI World Cup before “Indian win an Olympic Gold” – a tweet which he later deleted after being trolled for his factual error.

He later came up with an edited version of the tweet which read, “Hi @virendersehwag, I bet you 1 million rupees to charity that England wins a ODI World Cup before India wins another Olympic Gold. Accept?”

And as expected, Sehwag gave an epic reply to Morgan without naming him. Here is what he said.

The battle on the microblogging website began with Morgan’s inappropriate remark on Indian’s celebration of two medals at Rio Olympics. He tweeted, “Country with 1.2 billion people wildly celebrates 2 losing medals. How embarrassing is that?”

For this, Morgan not only received flak on Twitter but also ended up with Virender Sehwag pointing to England’s failure to have ever won a cricket world cup.

While Morgan admitted that it was embarrassing, he also wrote that if Kevin Peterson was in the team, they would have won the world cup.

“Very embarrassing, Legend. If @KP24 was playing, we’d win the WC. Just as we won T20 WC & he was Man of Series,” he tweeted.

But Sehwag, with another splendid reply, has proven that he is not just a champion on the field, but is also an undisputed champion when it comes to Twitter.
