Sri Lankan spinner Rangana Herath is doubtful for the third and final Test against India at Feroz Shah Kotla, New Delhi. The 39-year-old Herath complained about back pain after the end of the second Test at Nagpur, having bowled 39 overs in the only innings India batted. Legbreak bowler Jeffrey Vandersay is being flown to India as a cover for the veteran spinner for final Test.

Vandersay has played 11 ODIs and seven T20Is for Sri Lanka but is yet to make his Test debut. Sri Lanka have another spin option in their initial squad - the chinaman bowler Lakshan Sandakan.

In the first Test in Kolkata, the visitors barely used the services of Herath who bowled just eight overs due to the seam-friendly conditions of the Eden Gardens pitch.

The third and final Test of the 3-match series is set to begin from December 2.

Sri Lanka squad for 3rd Test:

Dinesh Chandimal (C), Dimuth Karunaratne, Dhananjaya de Silva, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Angelo Mathews, Lahiru Thirimanne, Suranga Lakmal, Dilruwan Perera, Lahiru Gamage, Lakshan Sandakan, Vishwa Fernando, Dasun Shanaka, Niroshan Dickwella, Roshen Silva, Jeffrey Vandersay.
