Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today credited BJP's inclusive and development-oriented agenda for the party's good showing in Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls.

He said non-BJP parties are opposing the saffron outfit just for the sake of it and this stance is not finding favour with voters, who are consistently supporting his party.

Chouhan termed the victory in Jammu and Kashmir as a real tribute to the founder of Jan Sangh (BJP's predecessor) Shyama Prasad Mookerjee, who strove for integration of the border state with the rest of the country.

“People have realised that the Opposition parties are opposing BJP just for sake of it. By continuously voting in favour of BJP, they have proved that it (BJP) believes in taking everybody along and in development of all,” he said, addressing party workers after the BJP's spectacular performance in the two States.

Chouhan said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's charismatic leadership and strong organisational skills of BJP President Amit Shah also contributed to the victory.

“People have exposed the unity of Janata Pariwar in Jharkhand where BJP has got a clear majority on its own,” he maintained.

BJP, along with a local ally, is on course to secure a clear majority in the 81-member House in the mineral-rich state, while in Jammu and Kashmir it has emerged as the second largest party, considerably improving on its 2008 performance.

Chouhan said after the conclusion of its ongoing membership drive, BJP would emerge as the largest political party in the world.
