Jehanabad (Bihar): Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and his predecessor Nitish Kumar shared dais after more than two months today to dispel reports of differences between them and launched a blistering attack on BJP.

The two were together at the JD(U) political meet as part of 'Sampark Yatra' launched by Kumar.

Their sharing the dais is seen as a major event amidst reports suggesting 'growing differences' between them in the wake of Manjhi making remarks which signalled his attempts to carve out a chance to be chief minister after the 2015 Assembly poll.

The reports began doing the rounds after Kumar conducted a number of programmes in the past two months which Manjhi had to give a miss.

Manjhi had taken over the reins of the state from Nitish Kumar in May this year after the former resigned in the wake of severe drubbing in the general election.

Speaking before Kumar, Manjhi described him as 'bade bhai' and himself 'chote bhai'.

He said opposition BJP has been trying to spread confusion among party workers about differences between them.

"A poor man can be pauper but can never be a betrayer of faith," he said.

Manjhi, who presented the ninth annual report card of JD(U) government earlier in the day and announced plans for SC/ST youths and farmers in particular, said as the Chief Minister, he has carried forward Kumar's developmental plans.

Kumar in his turn thanked Manjhi, who represents Makhdumpur in Jehanabad district, for attending the meet and praised him for announcing free education for girls and the other plans.

The two leaders pilloried BJP for 'hoodwinking' voters with false promises in the general election and appealed to JD(U) workers to make people aware of it in the Assembly poll next year.
