New Delhi:  Activists of the All India Mahila Congress on Tuesday held a demonstration to demand the resignation of union minister Sushma Swaraj and BJP chief ministers Vasundhara Raje and Shivraj Singh Chouhan for impropriety and corruption.

After protesting at Jantar Mantar in the national capital, the women demonstrators tried to march to parliament to register their protest but were stopped at a police barricade nearby.

The Mahila Congress supporters raised slogans against the Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh, Lalit Modi issue, corruption, women safety and inflation.

The protesters were demanding the resignation of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, and Vasundhara Raje and Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the chief ministers of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh respectively.

While Swaraj and Raje are under attack in connection with former IPL chairman Lalit Modi who is facing an Enforcement Directorate probe, Chouhan is facing the heat for the Vyapam scam.

”Before the general elections in 2014, (Narendra) Modiji made a number of promises on fighting corruption, controlling inflation, zero tolerance against atrocities on women.

But now, there is a U-turn on all these issues. We demand the resignation of all BJP leaders involved in cases of corruption and impropriety,” All India Mahila Congress president Shobha Ojha said.
