New Delhi: The former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated on May 21 in 1991 by a suicide bomber in Sriperumbudur, near Chennai.



The suicide bombing was carried out by Thenmozhi Rajaratnam alias Dhanu and LTTE was blamed for the assassination.
