New Delhi: Mehbooba Mufti-led People's Democratic Party is going to emerge as the single largest party in Jammu & Kashmir, while the BJP  may become the second largest party, says the India TV-CVoter exit poll, results of which were released soon after the fifth and last phase of polling was over today.

In Jharkhand, the BJP is in sight of coming to power with a projected range of 37 to 45 seats in a House of 81. The magic number is 41.  

JAMMU & KASHMIR:

In  Jammu and Kashmir, the PDP is projected to win within a range of 32-38 seats in a House of 87, says the exit poll.  

The BJP, which was contesting under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in J&K polls with a 44-plus target, may come up second and is projected to win within a range of 27-33 seats, with most of its seats coming from the Jammu region.

The Congress, which was a coalition partner in the Omar Abdullah government, is projected to win within a range of 4-10 seats, while the ruling National Conference is projected to win within a range of 8-14 seats, and 'Others' are expected to win 2-8 seats.

In the previous assembly elections, National Conference had won 28, Congress 17, PDP 21, BJP 11 and 'Others' 10 seats.

In the Kashmir Valley, which has a total of 46 seats, Mehbooba Mufti's PDP is projected to win within a range of 29-35 seats, while the National Conference is projected to win within a range of 7-13 seats. Congress is expected to win 0-2 and the BJP 0-1 seats, with Others projected in a range of 2-6 seats, says the exit poll.

In the Jammu region having a total of 37 seats, the BJP is projected to get the lion's share within a range of 25-31 seats, Congress 3-5, National Conference 0-2, PDP 2-4 and Others 0-2 seats.

In Ladakh region having four seats, both BJP and Congress are projected to win within a range of 1-3 seats each, says the exit poll.

Voting percentage wise, a whopping 14 pc swing has been projected in favour of BJP,  while a 10 pc swing has been projected in favour of PDP. National Conference faces a negative swing of -4 pc  votes, Congress -1 pc and 'Others' -19 pc votes.
