Srinagar:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to launch his election campaign in Jammu and Kashmir from Kishtwar on November 22.

His party, the BJP, is relying heavily on the personal charisma of the Prime Minister and has set a target of 44+ seats in the state.

After Kishtwar rally, Modi is likely to address another rally in Udhampur on November 28.

Modi has reportedly planned to address over half a dozen rallies in the state in order to ensure that his party gets the first chance in its history  to rule the northern state bordering Pakistan.

“The party's slogans will be ‘Ab badale Jammu and Kashmir ki haalat' and ‘Chalo Chale Modi ji ke saath',” Shrikant Sharma, national secretary of the BJP, told a newspaper.

Elections to 87 assembly seats of the state will be held from November 25-December 20. The counting will take place on December 23.
