New Delhi: Alleging misgovernment, misuse of official funds and failure to fulfil poll promises, Delhi BJP yesterday announced that it would hold a massive demonstration next week against the ruling AAP.

The stir will be held on June 23 at Delhi Vidhan Sabha over the failures of the Arvind Kejriwal-led government, the party said.

"Delhi has never witnessed the kind of misgovernment and misuse of funds for the ruling party's political expansion as we are watching currently.

"In the last 130 days, Delhi has seen several controversies, anarchism and faced the shame of having a bogus degree minister instead of development," said MP and Delhi BJP General Secretary, Ramesh Bidhuri.

Saying that AAP had come to power in Delhi by promising free water and electricity at half prices, Bidhuri alleged that these assurances have "not been fulfilled by the government".

He said that the government has given limited subsidies and has not worked on a Summer Action Plan (SAP). "Due to this, the city is witnessing major cuts in electricity as well as water supply," he said.

BJP also alleged that Delhi government was conniving with the Ambanis and Tatas and that has resulted in an undue six per cent hike in electricity rates.

The party demanded that the government immediately withdraw the six per cent power tariff hike or give six per cent additional subsidy to all electricity consumers in Delhi.

Keeping up the tirade, he said that despite high court directives about streamlining of school admissions, Delhi government sat on the issue, causing hardships for parents and students.

Bidhuri also slammed the AAP government for what he alleged was the poor state of health services at government hospitals.

Meanwhile, Delhi BJP spokesperson Harish Khurana has asked the party's legal cell to examine the contents of the ad films highlighting the achievements of the ruling AAP.

"If they (ad films) are in violation of Supreme Court guidelines, then BJP will take the matter before the apex court," he said.
