Counting in Jammu Kashmir will be videographed

Jammu: Counting of votes for Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections will begin tomorrow at 8 am across the state and the entire process will be videographed, officials said.

Chief Electoral Officer Umang Narula, said, 28 counting centres consisting of 94 halls have been set up to conduct the counting process at all district headquarters.

Postal ballots would be counted first up to 8.30 am, he said. Counting of votes on Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) will start after that, Narual said.

In case counting of postal ballots takes more time, even then the counting of votes on EVMs would start at 8.30 am.

Nearly 5000 election staff, apart from Assistant Returning Officers (ARO), will oversee the counting of votes.

He said the entire process would be videographed and trends will be shared after every hour.

For the first time migrant votes of all constituencies of Kashmir region will be counted in Jammu, Delhi and Udhampur.

In one polling station 147 in Jammu West constituency, re-polling was done today (Monday).
