New Delhi: In a fresh development, it is learnt that the BJP and former chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi have sealed seat sharing agreement for the upcoming Bihar assembly polls.

Sources said that Hindustani Avam Morcha (Secular) agreed to BJP's offer of 20 seats to it.

While the BJP will contest 160 seats, the Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP) of Upendra Kushwaha and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) of Ram Vilas Paswan will field their candidates on 23 and 40 seats, respectively.

The final announcement of seats will be made at 1 pm.

The latest development came after Manjhi met BJP president Amit Shah at latter's residence in New Delhi this morning.

"There is no confusion, everything is sorted," Manjhi told reporters while he was on his way to meet Shah.

Reports were doing the rounds that Manjhi was unhappy after he was offered 13-15 seats by the BJP and sought to draw parity with Paswan's LJP.

Though BJP has a strong Dalit ally in Paswan, it wants Manjhi on its side in the high-stakes state elections to bring in the Mahadalit votes.

The five-phase polling for the 243-member assembly begins from October 12 and concludes on November 5. Results will be declared on November 8.
