New Delhi, July 28: On Day 4 of Team Anna's indefinite fast, social activist Anna Hazare told his supporters today that he was not in favour of contesting elections, but would like his team to support candidates “with good character” in the forthcoming polls.

“Until and unless we have people of good character in parliament, a good Lokpal bill can never be passed. This is not an easy work”, he said at Jantar Mantar, as reports came in of senior Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal becoming weak and unable to walk after three days of fasting.

“All of us will have to arouse the conscience of the voters across the country. Mere collecting crowds won't do.

“Our work is on in nearly 400 districts of the country, and if I stay alive, I will travel the length and breadth of India to educate and create awarenes among voters”, Hazare said.

“Neither the Congress, nor the BJP, or for that matter, no party at present can change the future of this country. Those in power are looting money and stashing their money in foreign countries”, said Hazare.

“Even the big corporate houses do not want our agitation to succeed. These corporates also think they can easily buy votes.

“ My appeal to the voters is, do not fall prey to monetary inducements, and cast your vote only for the candidate who has an unblemished record”.

Hazare alleged that the government at the Centre repeatedly betrayed his team, by setting up high-powered committees and Parliamentary Standing Committee.
