New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh government has launched the much talked about Samajwadi Awas Yojna scheme which will attract the lower middle class and middle class sections of the society.

The flats that are going to be constructed under the new scheme will be priced between Rs 15-30 lakh. The state government aims to provide around three lakhs houses during the next two years ahead of 2017 state elections.

The UP government has also announced a series of steps which will also attract developers and the builders to join in this project. The various incentives given to the developers that includes non-payment of development charges, land use conversion charges and stamp duty charges.

The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has already proposed to construct 12,000 flats under this scheme out of which 10,000 will be build by private builders. The authority has also selected land area near Madhuban-Bapudham and Indraprastha.

The builders will not be allowed be allowed to increase the price from the period of registration till it's finally handed over to the owner.

However due to varying costs in different locations in the NCR regions the scheme will be divided under various categories which are likely to be Rs 3000 per square feet, Rs 2,800 per square feet, and Rs 2,500 per square feet.
