Punjab election results: Prashant Kishor says AAP one of toughest competitors

After Congress' victory in Punjab, Prashant Kishor, one of the key poll strategists for party in the state, today said AAP was one the toughest competitors his team has faced.

He also congratulated Amarinder Singh, Congress's chief ministerial candidate, for party's victory.

"Congratulations to @capt_amarinder and the entire Punjab Congress for a stupendous win!"

"To all AAP volunteers and grassroots workers, you were one of the toughest competitors we faced! @ArvindKejriwal @AAPPunjab2017," said tweets issued on Kishor's organisation @IndianPAC, which, however, is not a Twitter-verified handle.

Kishor was considered as one of the key poll strategists in Punjab for the Congress, which saw a revival in the state after 10 years of SAD-BJP combined rule.

Meanwhile, state party chief Amarinder Singh today said tackling drug menace would be a priority even as he attacked SAD for having brought the state "down to its knees".

In his usual combative style, Amarinder, who turned 75 today, also took a dig on Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal saying the Delhi Chief Minister was like a "summer storm which had come and gone".

"Anybody who is found involved in the drug scourge will be dealt as per law, howsoever powerful he may be. I have said within four weeks we will tackle this drugs problem," Singh, who was the Congress' chief ministerial face, told a crowded press conference here.
