New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has written to the Delhi University urging to make public Prime Minister Narendra Modi's BA degree. In a letter to Vice Chancellor Yogesh Tyagi, Kejriwal referred to Modi's successive election affidavits in which he claimed that he had a Bachelor of Arts degree from Delhi University.
"It will be better if you put on the university website all the documents related to the Prime Minister's degree. The people of this country have a right to know how educated their Prime Minister is," his letter reads.
Kejriwal also said that university administration should protect the documents from any possible ‘accident’.
"We request you to take the necessary steps to protect these documents. It will be even better if all the documents are immediately put up on your website," Kejriwal said.
Earlier, Kejriwal had claimed that the Delhi University was ‘refusing’ to show records of Narendra Modi’s degree as he never graduated from it and that the images of his degrees published by some newspapers were ‘forged’.
“No records in DU related to his enrolment, his degree, his marksheets and convocation,” the Chief Minister had said.
Last week, the Central Information Commission (CIC) had directed DU and Gujarat University to search and provide information on Modi’s degrees. Following this, the Gujarat University had on Sunday said Modi had an MA degree and had scored 62.3 per cent as an external student of the varsity while DU is yet to share any information.
AAP has been attacking the Prime Minister over the issue ever since Kejriwal wrote a letter to CIC demanding disclosure of educational qualifications of Modi.
