Maharashtra: Another female politician receives lewd messages on her mobile phone, case registered

Congress MLA in Maharashtra Assembly Varsha Gaikwad has registered a case against an unidentified person after she received lewd messages on her mobile phone.

Congress MLA in Maharashtra Assembly Varsha Gaikwad has registered a case against an unidentified person after she received lewd messages on her mobile phone.

The case was registered case under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 354 in Wadala Truck Terminal Police Station on Monday afternoon. 

This is the second incident within two weeks when a female politician had to file a police case in similar circumstances.

Shiv Sena leader Neelam Gorkhe had also registered a complaint with the Mumbai Police last week after she received threats of rape and murder on her mobile phone.

Before Neelam Gorkhe, BJP spokesperson Shaina NC had also registered a case against unidentified person after she received lewd messages on her phone.

The police, however, arrested the accused in this case who turned out to be a BJP activist from Varanasi.
